Hola, I'm Flor - Your Spanish Fairy Godmother!

You don't know me yet, but my name is Flor, and I'm your new Spanish fairy godmother! I am a native speaker with a clear and neutral accent from Peru. I specialize in helping people get past a language learning plateau to reach conversational fluency!

I discovered a passion for helping others to learn Spanish when my daughter-in-law, an American, came into our family a few years ago. She asked me to help her learn, and I was happy to provide resources and plenty of speaking practice for her! Later, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a language school in Colorado, where I often participated as a Spanish conversation partner and Peruvian culture advocate.

I believe in an immersive language learning approach, which makes me the perfect person to learn Spanish with. My teaching method is best for those who can communicate at a basic Spanish level or above.

My qualifications include extensive grammar and literature classes at San Martin de Porres University here in Lima that were taken as I pursued a Journalism degree. I have owned a business and worked in the financial sector. I have taught over 9,500 lessons on italki as a teacher. I'm ready to help you with a structured and professional lesson plan. More than accomplishments, however, my temperament helps me to be a good teacher! I am a very patient and kind person who will do everything she can to help you learn.
